Wood products manufacturers that serve commercial, institutional and other non-residential clients are increasingly being asked about LEED preparedness and to bid on supplying LEED projects. LEED is a tremendously popular “green” building guideline and rating system in the United States and Canada. However, many manufacturers do not feel prepared to respond and need help in understanding the requirements of the LEED program.
A Guide for Wood Product Manufacturers: Understanding Green Programs (LEED and Green Globes), is geared specifically for wood product manufacturers and designed to simplify the process of understanding requirements for these programs. The report condenses the hundreds of pages of material down to just what manufacturers need to know about issues such as recycled content, certified wood, and VOC emissions of coatings.
